Lorenzo Fontanelli was born in Certaldo in 1950.
He studied at the Art Institute of Florence and then graduated in painting in 1975 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. His works have been exhibited and are part of collections in many private and public locations in Italy and abroad: Florence, Milan, Barcelona, Bilbao, Genoa, Chur, Paris, Hurt, Gent, Helsinki. They wrote about his work: Massimo Carboni, Andrea B. Del Guercio, Lara Vinca Masini, Filiberto Menna, Giandomenico Semeraro, Silvana Sinisi, Mauro Pratesi, Giovanna Uzzani.
On show some tables of the work “Maps for an Atlas of the disappearing world” (work in progress) developed since 2008; two large tempera from a new cycle of tempera works; some terracotta from the 90s. He lives between Certaldo and Florence.
